Byron's back in Mayfair
Ant Fox
We are delighted to have worked on a bespoke version of Byron for an ambitious project based around the amalgamation of 15 Georgian townhouses into the Mayfair Townhouse Hotel. Originally built in the early 18th century, Half Moon Street has always held a reputation being a colourful haunt for batchelors, bohemiams and the artistic characters alike.
We can’t think of a better setting for a bespoke version of our whimsical take of Byron. He adorns the entrance to ‘The Den’ an opulent swath of ruby red, jewel lined seats and range of artwork all pertaining to the elusive mascot, the fox.
In true Ant Fox style, there is of course hidden messages in the art. It would appear that this hasn’t been missed by some of those eagle eyed reviewers. The ‘Inspector’ from the Daily Mail noted, ‘some of the art has QR barcodes in case you want to find more about them’. Well spotted!
We understand that Byron will also feature in a new 3 part documentary ‘Britain’s Most Luxurious Hotels being produced by Spun Gold TV due to be aired on Channel 4 later this year.
We would like to thank Minda Dowling, Art Curator for the fantastic opportunity, we’ll be visiting soon!
